About
I’m Isaac, a documentary photographer based in the UK. I grew up on the Welsh coast, spending my days exploring the rugged landscapes of Pembrokeshire with friends. Those adventures, combined with a family history of photography, naturally drew me to documenting the world around me and set me on my creative path.
Over the years, I explored a range of photographic genres, from wildlife to extreme sports, but I struggled to find my true niche. Initially, I dreamed of documenting the achievements of people in outdoor sports like climbing and surfing. Yet the pull between participating and photographing the moment proved too strong, as my love for photography only rivalled my love for the outdoors, especially the ocean. This realisation came during a surf trip in Indonesia, where I spent time thinking about my future and my passion for photography.
That trip inspired me to broaden my photographic experience by studying at university. After researching every photography institute in the UK, I chose Falmouth University’s Institute of Photography, where I now study Documentary and Editorial Photography as a mature student (if 24 counts as mature!).
Studying here has been transformative. It’s where I discovered my niche: BTS and unit stills. I first got on set through a project led by final-year students at the Falmouth School of Film and Television. The experience was exhilarating, and my work was well-received, leading to a recommendation for a professional short film in the area. That project earned me my first professional credit and cemented my love for capturing the energy and story of a film set.
Here’s what Enrico Artuso, producer of that short film, had to say:
"Working with you was a great experience: you were lovely on set, always at hand when needed but also out of the way enough for the crew to do their jobs. The pictures were absolutely lovely: a great mix of candids, BTS, and character shots that perfectly captured the mood of the film. Both Alessandro (Director) and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with you again."
Since then, I’ve continued to hone my skills, working on student films across Falmouth and building experience on set. My goal is to keep developing as a BTS and stills photographer, working my way up to opportunities on television shows and feature-length films.
I’m always open to collaborating on new projects, big or small, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’d love to work with you!
